In the film "Baarìa" Tornatore makes to torture and to kill a bovine (really), in a barbaric and bloody way.

The bovine has been stricken to the head with an awl that is hammered in his forehead. He has collapsed and his "executioner"  has cut his throat.

The animal died after a pulsation of eyelids. The scene has been turned in Tunisia because in Italy all of this would be considered out of law, since the bovine has not preventively been senseless.

The film runs to the Oscar. What a shame for Italy!
