Dear Academy,

I´ve watched the Academy Awards show live since 1.987. For me, this is the greatest moment on the year. And, in this show, the best moment is the Honorary Oscar to a movie legend. (Sophia Loren, Myrna Loy, Elizabeth Taylor, Deborah Kerr, Federico Fellini, Kirk Douglas, Stanley Donen, Elia Kazan, Sidney Poitier, Robert Redford, Peter O´Toole, Jerry Lewis... WOW!!! These moments were really wonderful!!! )

Unfortunately, I see you´re TAKING this glorious moment FROM the 2.010 Oscar show. This is a very, very WRONG decision.angry

The reasons given by the Academy are ridiculous (I´m sorry, but I have to say it). You say that the honorary oscar winners deserve more time. It´s O.K. Every winner deserves more time: The best actor, the best director, the best screenpayer,... But, specially, they deserve AN AUDIENCE. A PUBLIC.

What are you doing? To give an oscar to Lauren Bacall... out of the ceremony? No, no, no, please. The ceremony will be sad and poor if you take from it its best moment: The Honorary Oscar. Lauren Bacall MUST BE AWARDED AT THE OSCAR SHOW, AT THE KODAK THEATER, in march.

Please, think about it. It would be a TREMENDOUS ERROR, A DISASTER.

Best wishes,

                               Jesus Larrea
